HORNETS VOLUNTEER ROLES AND POINTS

HORNETS VOLUNTEER POLICY AND POINTS (2026)   --  PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE REGISTERING

To encourage all Club Members to become actively involved in the operation and success of the Calgary Hornets Lacrosse Association by way of volunteering their time at the Club and/or Team levels (during the season and/or in the offseason).

CLUB JOB / TEAM JOB (PER PLAYER):

a)   U7 Division -- ONLY TEAM JOB REQUIRED for this division.      In order for a member to move through the volunteering portion of the registration, (other than those that chose Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Manager) you will be able to choose -- "U7 TEAM JOBS".

b)   U9 - U17 Divisions -- All players in these divisions MUST sign-up and complete a CLUB JOB and all families must do a team job as well.     There will be numerous jobs to choose from to be completed during the season or in the off-season.    There will be no team jobs to choose from at the time of registration aside from Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Manager.    THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL NECESSARILY GET THE JOB YOU SIGN-UP FOR AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION AS IT DEPENDS ON SEVERAL FACTORS. 

TOTAL POINTS VALUE REQUIRED:

U7                Team Jobs - all team jobs have been given point values.    All families are encouraged and asked to do some volunteering at the team level.   As there are fewer number of players per team, and there are less team jobs than other divisions, if there are not enough team jobs, you will then have to take on a club job which could be working a shift at the Icebreaker, U9 Hive Tournament, etc.

U9 - U17     Club job required and all families must help at the team level, except for some volunteering positions.  (Club jobs and team jobs have been given a point value).   Team jobs will be filled after the team is set.     200 points required per player and non-volunteering fee has increased to  $600 /Player).   WHEN REGISTERING CHOOSE A CLUB JOB AND THEN CHOOSE:

"WE UNDERSTAND WE MUST HELP ON THE TEAM IN SOME CAPACITY AS PART OF OUR VOLUNTEERING COMMITMENT"   WE HAVE GIVEN THIS SELECTION 100 POINTS IN ORDER TO MOVE THROUGH THE REGISTRATION SYSTEM.
 

**  FAMILY MAXIMUM IS 400 POINTSa
 

PLEASE NOTE FOR ALL DIVISIONS - once teams are set you will be required to sign-up and complete a team job.

VOLUNTEERING POINTS AND NON-VOLUNTEERING BOND:

If you choose not to volunteer you can choose this option during the registration process and the required Bond will be added to your registration fees associated with the level of the player being registered.

U9 - U17 - 200 Points / per Player       **  Club and Team Job Requirement

U9 - U17 Team Jobs:

Coach / Assistant Coach (3 total)  **  choose as club job at time of registering player
Manager    **  choose as club job at time of registering player
Trainer
Volunteer Coordinator
Treasurer
Social Coordinator
Box Duties  **  If you cannot make a game, IT IS UP TO YOU TO FIND A REPLACEMENT AND ADVISE YOUR VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR.
