ABOUT HORNETS LACROSSE:
The Hornets Lacrosse Association is a member of the Calgary District Lacrosse Association ("CDLA") and the Alberta Lacrosse Association ("ALA").

The Minor Box Lacrosse season typically begins around mid-April and runs to the end of June (including playoffs). Provincial tournaments take place in July.
Registration for Hornets Lacrosse will begin in early January with an email notification to all returning players. Registration fees are reviewed annually and further information regarding registration fees will be on the website under Registration. Please review our website thoroughly prior to registering regarding volunteering, registering and our withdrawal policy. All registrations are done on-line.
Age Groups (age as at December 31 of current season):
Mini-Tyke - 4, 5, 6
Tyke - 7 & 8
Novice - 9 & 10
Peewee - 11 & 12
Bantam - 13 & 14
Midget - 15 & 16
Juniors - 17 - 21 years of age
The divisions are based of the player‘s birth year as at December 31 of the current year.
There is new player clinic offered to all players who are new to the sport of box lacrosse. These clinics can be between February and early April, depending on the division.
Hornets Lacrosse has "A" teams at the Peewee to Midget divisions. Tryouts for these teams will commence in early March. Any player wishing to tryout for the "A" teams can do so (must have lacrosse experience to register and here is a parent/player commitment). Regular Evaluations will commence after the tryouts conclude.
There are typically 1 practice and 1 game per week. Games are played in arenas through the City with possible travel to Cochrane, Airdrie, Strathmore, High River, Okotoks (depending on the division).
Game Lengths: U9/U11 (1 hour); U13 (1.25 hours), U15 (1.50 hours) and U17 (1.50 hours).
