HORNETS VOLUNTEER POLICY, ROLES AND POINTS FOR 2023
In 2021 (after returning to a full lacrosse season - post COVID) our registration numbers were low, but 40 families had chosen not to volunteer (the most we have ever had). In order for the Hornets to run a successful club, we need all (or most) to participate and help the Board, Coordinators and Coaches run a successful and fun season. In that regard, we have adjusted the point system, the jobs, and what each player at each division would be committing to. We have Club and Team Jobs. A breakdown of what those jobs are and the point value are below.
CLUB JOB / TEAM JOB:
a) U7 Division -- No club job needs to be done at the U7 level, only a team job, unless you volunteer as a Board Member, Division Coordinator, Coach or Manager, in which case no team job is required from these individuals. For anyone else, in order to move through the volunteering portion of the registration, you will be able to choose -- "CONTINUE".
b) U9 Division -- No club job needs to be done at the U9 level, only a team job, unless you want to volunteer as the Board, Division Coordinator, Coach or Manager, in which case no team job is required from these individuals. For anyone else, in order to move through the volunteer portion of the registration, you will be able to choose -- "CONTINUE".
c) U11 - U17 Divisions -- A club job as well as a team job needs to be completed for each player (up to a family point value maximum). When registering your player(s) in these divisions, you will need to choose a CLUB job (there will be numerous to choose from). There will be no team jobs to choose from at the time of registration aside from Coach, Manager, Volunteer Coordinator or Trainer.
PLEASE NOTE FOR ALL DIVISIONS - once teams are set you will be required to sign-up and complete a team job.
VOLUNTEERING POINTS AND NON-VOLUNTEERING BOND:
The non-volunteering Bond should be used for special circumstances and in such a case if chosen at the time of registration, $100, $200 or $300 will be added to your registration fee depending on the division you are registering for.

In the case of multiple players in a family, volunteering needs to be done for the first two players only. The Family Maximum generally would be 400 points and $400 Bond, unless you fall into one of these situations as an example:
a) One player at U9 and one player in U11 (or U13-U17) - the maximum points requirement would be 500 points and the non-volunteering Bond would be $500;
b) Two players in U11 - U17 - the maximum points requirement would be 600 points and the non-volunteering Bond would be $600.
If you choose not to volunteer you can choose this option during the registration process and the required Bond will be added to your registration fees associated with the level of the player being registered.
U7 - 100 Points / 2-3 hour Requirement - $200 Bond if not completed ** No Club Job Requirement

U9 - 200 Points / 5 - 6 hour Requirement - $200 Bond if not completed ** No Club Job Requirement

Social Coordinator
