REGISTRATION 2023

2023 REGISTRATION opens - December 15, 2022  --  REGISTER HERE

Registration fees are paid on-line using Credit cards, E-Transfer, Voucher Options (to use this option you must contact the Executive Director first), Kidsport or Jumpstart.  

Early Bird Registration Fees for all divisions - December 15, 2022 - February 14, 2023.
General Registration Fees for all divisions - February 15, 2023 - March 15, 2023 (or as long as there is space on a team). We encourage you to register your player earlier than later in order for us to have an idea regarding numbers for evaluations and also in order for your player to be a part of the evaluation process.   General Evaluations to commence approximately the beginning of March 2023.

**  Ages are as of December 31.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

1.     1 - Credit Card*  entire payment online at time of registration; or

2.     3 - Credit Card payments online.   1st due at time of registration, the 2nd payment due February 15 and the 3rd payment due March 1;  (*  A 3% administrative/processing fee will be added to your credit card on all registrations).

3.     1 - E-Transfer payment; or

4.     3 - E-transfer payments.   1st due at time of registration, the 2nd payment due February 15 and the 3rd payment due March 1. or

5.     Kidsport (families must contact the Executive Director when using this option).   Any outstanding fees not covered by Kidsport must be paid by the family; or

6.     Hornet Voucher (families must contact the Executive Director when looking to use this option).

After March 15 entire fees are due at time of registration via creditcard payment only.   If you need to make specific arrangements, please contact our Executive Director at admin@hornetslacrosse.com.

VOLUNTEERING:    FURTHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE CHANGES TO THE VOLUNTEERING REQUIREMENT CAN BE FOUND THROUGH THE LINK BELOW TOGETHER WITH THE NUMBER OF POINTS, CLUB JOBS AND TEAM JOBS --  HORNETS VOLUNTEERING

MINOR PLAYERS PLEASE NOTE:  An adjustment to our volunteering requirement is in the process of being updated.    The requirement is that:

a)   U7 Division -- No club job needs to be done at the U7 level, only a team job, unless you are the Division Coordinator, Coach or Manager,in which case no team job is required.

b)   U9 Division -- No club job needs to be done at the U9 level, only a team job, unless you are the Division Coordinator, Coach or Manager, in which case no team job is required.

c)   U11 - U17 Divisions -- A club job as well as a team job needs to be completed for each player (up to a family maximum).     When registering your player(s) in these divisions, you will need to choose a CLUB job (there will be numerous to choose from).    THERE WILL BE NO TEAM JOBS TO CHOOSE FROM AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION ASIDE FROM COACHING, MANAGER, VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR OR TRAINER.     Once teams are set you will be required to sign-up and complete a team job as well.   (Further information will be forthcoming).    The non-volunteering fee is for special circumstances and in such a case if chosen at the time of registration, $100, $200 or $300 will be added to your registration fee depending on the division you are registering for.

**    Please familiarize yourself with our Policies as well as the Volunteering Commitment portion and positions prior to registering your player(s).

NEW PLAYER SESSION: 

**    If you are a new player to lacrosse in 2023, we will be holding a New Player Clinic (mandatory to attend) which will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Spray Lakes Family Sports Centre, 800 Griffin Road East, Cochrane.    Further details to follow.

ALL REGISTRATION FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE A PLAYER CAN ATTEND ANY FLOOR SESSIONS. 

**NOTE:  IF USING THE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT PLAN METHOD, OR YOU HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE HORNETS TO PAY WITH ANOTHER PAYMENT METHOD AND/OR MULTIPLE PAYMENTS, THEN THE PLAYER CAN ATTEND FLOOR SESSIONS.      

IN BOTH CASES OF REJECTED OR NSF PAYMENTS, THE PLAYER CANNOT ATTEND FURTHER FLOOR SESSIONS UNTIL THE FEES ARE PAID IN FULL.    NSF FEE IS $40.00.

Hornets will again be using Ramp Registration System when registering in the 2023 season.   New Ramp users will need to create a profile.    Please review your contact information (address, email, phone numbers) as well as player birthdays prior to registering for the upcoming season.

U13, U15 and U17 "A" Tryouts will commence Family Day long weekend.   Further details TBD and further specific "A" Tryout dates and information will be posted on the website in due course.    All players looking to tryout for one of our "A" teams MUST be registered for the 2023 Spring Box season as well as being registered for the Tryouts.    Once you are registered your division coordinator will be in touch.

10U - 16U - General Evaluations - TBD;

6U - 8U - Evaluations - TBD.

"A" TRYOUTS:

U13 - U17 "A" TRYOUTS - Will commence Family Day Long weekend.  Further details TBD and further specific "A" Tryout dates and information will be posted to Evaluation/Tryout Information  Tab on the website in due course.    All players looking to tryout for one of our "A" teams MUST be registered for the 2023 Spring Box season as well as being registered for the Tryouts.  Once you are registered your division coordinator will be in touch with specific dates and times.  REGISTRATION FOR THE "A" TRYOUTS CLOSES ON FEBRUARY 14, 2023.

 HORNETS GENERAL EVALUATIONS:

PLAYER RELEASES:

Lacrosse in Calgary is a boundary sport.  The Hornet Boundaries/Communities can be found here.  However, some players move addresses after playing most of their youth with another club.   Some players play other sports within other club boundaries (school).  These release forms are brought to the Hornets Board for review.  The Board reviews the ramifications of each release and makes a decision on the release request at monthly meetings (January-March).   The Release form must be sent to the President for Board review.  The Release is then sent to the self governing body (CDLA) for other club concerns and signatures.   These Releases usually set precedents and are reviewing thoroughly.   Upon written approval, the player is released from the Hornets to another club.   The Hornets may initiate a release due to low enrollment on any particular age group.   THESE ARE YEARLY RELEASES ONLY.

PLAYER EXEMPTIONS:

Each year some players are exempt from playing in their "natural" birth age division.   Common reasons are height and weight compared to the players peer group.  Some are for convenience (two kids in two separate divisions, one year apart).   The process of this form is that the parent fills it out and sends it to the President of the Hornets.   The Hornets President will present it to the self governing body (CDLA) before the season starts and teams are formed (mid-March).   Other clubs within the CDLA have the opportunity to object to this application.    The Hornets, upon written notification from the CDLA, will notify the parent of the decision on the exemption.   The Hornets will perform due diligence on all applications.   This exemptions are only for one year.
